The 1929â30 New York Rangers season was the franchise's fourth season. In the regular season, the Rangers finished third in the American Division with a 17â17â10 record. New York qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs, where the Rangers defeated the Ottawa Senators 6â3 in a two-game, total-goals series, but lost to the Montreal Canadiens 2â0 in the semi-finals.
